More about Beecholme

Beecholme is also the first postwar "mixed development" housing scheme in Hackney, with a mixture of houses and flats with the taller block having five storeys and containing one-bedroom and bedsit accommodation. It is featured in Volume 15 of Hackney History and was the site of Beecholme House, the family home of Maj. John André (d. 1780), who was executed as a British spy in the American War of Independence.

Bike shelter shelved

I am sorry to have to report the Bike Shelter has been cancelled due to lack of response.
Only 2 households replied.

I am hoping that as the weather improves next year we will try again and get the numbers we need.

If you want to have your say it's not too late though.
Make sure you attend our next

TRA meeting on 23rd January 2008

at the hall on the corner of Prout Road.

bike shed in jeopardy

Hi again. I'd like to remind everyone who'd like a bike space reserved to either email: bike@beecholme.co.uk or fill in the leaflet that came through your letterbox (or just write a note with no. spaces, your name, address & ph no) as soon as possible.

Let me know before 20th November please.

So far we have only 3 households (6 bicycle places) wanting the secure bike shelter.
If we don't get a better response we may have to shelve the idea. To some extent it will depend on any alternative projects popularity/potential use.

If you think the secure bike shelter would encourage you to get a bicycle or you think you may want a space in the not too distant future, please let me know.
Post your request for a space(s) to me:

David White (Sec. B&C TRA)
22 Beecholme Est
Prout Rd
Clapton
London E5 9NS.

or email: bike@beecholme.co.uk

See the leaflet and photos of the bike shelter below.
You can even click on it to bring it up full size in a new window/tab and then print it out.

Hackney Homes Service Standard Review

Hackney Homes is doing a review of their Service Standards and need your views.

And need them now!
(or at least before Thursday 15th)

It covers everything from how many days they have to respond to your letter, query , phone call or email to how often they should inspection buildings to how quickly they should respond to repair requests.

The actual list includes timescales and specific details for Repairs, Grounds maintenance, Cleaning, Anti social behaviour, Decent Homes, Parking, Home ownership, Rents and Housing management.

They are planning focus groups in the week commencing the 19th November, and are interested in your suggestions for changes. That is, even identifying new service standards, deleting old ones, changing timescales or simply commenting on the existing standards.

You should either contact me, David White (info@davidwhitedesign.co.uk) and I can give you all the details (or I can forward your views) or you can contact Tom Hogan (Head of Service Development & Neighbourhood Contract Manager) at tom.hogan@hackneyhomes.org.uk
