More about Beecholme

Beecholme is also the first postwar "mixed development" housing scheme in Hackney, with a mixture of houses and flats with the taller block having five storeys and containing one-bedroom and bedsit accommodation. It is featured in Volume 15 of Hackney History and was the site of Beecholme House, the family home of Maj. John André (d. 1780), who was executed as a British spy in the American War of Independence.

Great TRA day out at Kew Gardens

UPDATE - Mon 18th August
More Kew photos available
taken on a 35mm film camera.
(The ones below were taken on a digital camera)

Click on the "Flickr.com" panel about 12 inches down on the left hand side to see them
and be able to download them in 5 sizes
from thumbnail to around A2 landscape.
There are currently 9 more photos with still more to come.

On Sunday 27th of July the TRA had the planned day out to Kew.
We left by coach at 9.30am and returned around 6pm.
The weather was glorious and Kew was brilliant as always.

Here are a few of the digital shoots I took - there are a lot more to chose from, some of which I'll add later. I have yet to have the 35mm shots developed. I'll post some of those either here on Flickr.com
I'll give you the link asap.

As you can see, the first 3 I've already played around with a bit in Adobe Photoshop CS3 & Lightroom. Some have before and after shots.

They are all around A3

If you missed out this it's your own fault - god knows we advertised enough. All residents had glossy A5 leaflets through the door along with another ad in the Beecholme newsletter, plus posters in all the notice boards for weeks.

Be sure to look out for our next "TRA Day Out"

Stick-on artwork for the estates bins

These are just to show the concept.

I'm not suggesting we use these particular images.
They do, however, show what a difference covering them will make.

You'll be happy to hear the idea will go ahead as a majority vote at the
recent TRA meeting confirmed.

I'll keep you informed on new designs here.

Here's the first "off the top of my head" creation for this upcoming TRA meeting.
I'm not sure if it will be the final one used. It just depends on whether I can come up with something I think will be more effective - or just plain better.

What do you think?
Do you like it?
Did it attract your attention?
