NEWS about the gate sign

The work order has been issued, so at the next meeting - Poster above - we'll decide which version we want then get it printed and fitted.
I've asked if the GERDA gate(s) can be painted first to match the street furniture and railings - I'll keep you posted.

The redesign for the estates main large sign is coming along - with a 3D map oriented to match its placement. If approved it will be housed it the new wrought frames and printed in colour and covered with a vandal proof plastic.


MORE GOOD NEWS

Hackney Homes, with a little push from Ron Devoti, chair of the Clapton Panel, have consented to refurbish and decorate the tall block's ground floor lift lobby.
This means plastering the bare brick walls, boxing in the cables and painting.
They had originally asked it be put off until the proposed new lift is installed, but as it was supposed to be in last year and this year is uncertain their agreement to redecorate now is very welcome.
It's the main entrance for the bulk of the residents in that block and is currently terrible.
Thanks also go to Gary Lane of Hackney Homes who also had the vision to see it needed doing.

New gate sign

These are the proportions of the current gate sign and is a version, as you see, without any large areas of background colour, making it easier to print.
The orange background below is my preferred proportions simply because it suits the design.
The difference is cost should be minimal - I'll keep you informed.




Here is my design for the new gate sign (see article "Semi-what" lower down) to replace the current "UNAUTHORIZED" sign.
I'm hoping to paint the galvanized gate black as well, to match the accompanying street furniture.
I'm also working on a design for the large estate map sign. I intend to use a 3D drawing rather than flat blocks and orientated to match your point of view in front of it. That is, not necessarily with north pointing virtically.
