My background is both in fine art and commercial design with a physics degree taken at UCL as an adult.My favourite quote, because it should be applied to every aspect of life, not just the formulation of scientific hypotheses is: "Science is: guess, then compute consequences or implication then compare to nature or experience or experiment. IE see if it works. If it disagrees with experiment.. it is wrong! It doesn't matter how beautiful your guess is, how smart you are or what your name is. If it disagrees with experiment it's wrong.
