More about Beecholme

Beecholme is also the first postwar "mixed development" housing scheme in Hackney, with a mixture of houses and flats with the taller block having five storeys and containing one-bedroom and bedsit accommodation. It is featured in Volume 15 of Hackney History and was the site of Beecholme House, the family home of Maj. John André (d. 1780), who was executed as a British spy in the American War of Independence.

My background and favourite quote

My background
is both in fine art and commercial design with a physics degree taken at UCL as an adult.
My favourite quote, because it should be applied to every aspect of life, not just the formulation of scientific hypotheses is: "Science is: guess, then compute consequences or implication then compare to nature or experience or experiment. IE see if it works. If it disagrees with experiment.. it is wrong! It doesn't matter how beautiful your guess is, how smart you are or what your name is. If it disagrees with experiment it's wrong. That's all there is to it." Richard Feynman, Cornell Uni lecture 1964.
