More about Beecholme

Beecholme is also the first postwar "mixed development" housing scheme in Hackney, with a mixture of houses and flats with the taller block having five storeys and containing one-bedroom and bedsit accommodation. It is featured in Volume 15 of Hackney History and was the site of Beecholme House, the family home of Maj. John André (d. 1780), who was executed as a British spy in the American War of Independence.

Last years 184 repairs, this years s184 walkabout

Most of the 184 work identified on last years walkabout has already been done but there are a couple of relatively small jobs outstanding.

One such job was completed today
by Davies & Davies.

They replaced the top row of bricks on the low wall pictured below

They did a good job and only accidentally slightly damaged one plant.

The Section 184
(resident directed communal repairs)
walkabout for Beecholme
is on
Friday 10th of June
around 1.30pm.

If you're a resident you are welcome to join the team of surveyor, Estate Manager, EIB/184 officers and TRA reps
