More about Beecholme

Beecholme is also the first postwar "mixed development" housing scheme in Hackney, with a mixture of houses and flats with the taller block having five storeys and containing one-bedroom and bedsit accommodation. It is featured in Volume 15 of Hackney History and was the site of Beecholme House, the family home of Maj. John André (d. 1780), who was executed as a British spy in the American War of Independence.

For those interested in the flyer's design process

This is my first rough sketch for visualising purposes:

Re-drawn with some alterations to A4 on layout paper:

and then traced onto art board and inked in the outlines
by hand a little more accurately, with further odd adjustments:

Then quickly coloured in Photoshop

with all artwork & another col version
in my "Alternative Open Day" project

I have started to improve it further, in expectation of the next Alt Open Day.

Improvements will include adjusting colour, texture and background.
If I'd had more time I would have translated the hand drawn line art to vector in illustrator and then made further adjustments for this first one.

I'm adding the new artwork to the Behance project on my portfolio (link above) as I do it, bit by bit, as time allows.
